Description
I used <a href="http://freesound.org" rel="nofollow">freesound.org</a>'s sample: Brian-snare.wav
I increased its volume on FL Studio (Fruity Loops) with the Fruity Limiter off, because it doesn't allow digital distortion, and that's what I wanted.
I EQ-ed the file, in order to boost nice harmonics (warmth = bass, and detailed highs, but without some nasty boxy [dis]harmonics).
I rendered the file, and I used WaveLab only to trim it correctly.
At the end of the file I used WaveLab > Process > Level envelope (V) to draw an exponential-like (and not logarithmic) fade out to make sure it doesn't click.
