Dawn chorus and sunrise in a Filipino suburb.
I made this recording at about 5:15AM, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear the atmosphere of this place during sunrise, with some crickets, dawn chorus from local birds, roosters and dogs barking in the distance, some human voices and activities, a vehicle passing by (at #3:18), as well as some distant fishermen’s motorboats and traffic hum. At about #11:25, the cicadas slowly start to make some noise, and the bell from the nearby church starts ringing at #16:53.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H6essential (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.
