The Tipperne Peninsula on the westcoast of Denmark is a relatively new area which was created by migrating sand just a couple of centuries ago. To stop the migrating sand, people in Sdr. Bork built dikes/protection with sticks, seaweed and heather. That is why the area is called Værnengene which means the protection-meadows in English. The farthest part of the area, which is called Tipperne, is the largest bird habitat in Northern Europe.

The Tipperne Peninsula and Værnengene (protection meadows) is a nature area with a multitude of different waterfowls breed and live here.

Værnengene, which is a large, protected area, is where I did this recording early one morning in July, surrounded by reeds, using 2 Rode NT1-A microphones, a MixPre and a Korg MR-2 recorder.
