Description
This is a sonically enhanced version of “(Relaxing middle of Storm) 4.17.09 Rice University.mp3” by eclipseprophet.
The file length has been trimmed to a manageable 11:29.8 from its original length of 23:09.8 eliminating some distracting street noises near the end of the original file.
Real rain is a stereo phenomenon, hence the original mono file was converted to stereo using a Haas effect VST plugin developed by mda-vst. The resulting sound was thereafter judiciously processed using the Sir Elliot 18 band VST graphic equalizer to produce a somewhat less strident tonality that is more in keeping with the sound of a genuine rainfall. Particular attention was paid to the enhancement of the distant thunder in the original track. The signal was thereafter further enhanced using a Freeverb 3 Stereo Enhancer. The end result of all this tinkering is a lush and realistic (to my ears) stereo sonic experience.
Volume normalized such that a -3 db peak was not exceeded. Manually trimmed to loop rather unobtrusively. WAV format, 16 bit stereo, 48000 Hz.
