Description
I have one of those home phones with wireless handsets that allow you to walk about the house while you are on a phone call.
Yesterday, I finished a call and replaced the handset on the stand and it started making a continuous high-pitched beep.
It showed a message on the display. Something like "Power cut, do you want to reset time and date?". But the keys were locked. Did not matter what key you pressed, nothing would happen. And the horrible continuous beep just carryed on.
There is no off button on the handset. The battery is a built in rechargeable battery, so no way of forcing it off by removing that.
In the end I took the handset to the garden shed, threw it inside a box and left it there for the battery to run out.
That is where I made this recording.
There was not much point making it a longer recording, since it was just a long invariant beep.
