Description
I used the <a href="http://freesound.org" rel="nofollow">freesound.org</a>'s file kick-Zimbo.wav in higher volume through WaveLab's MultiComp with the soft clip on.
I cut off the high frequencies, lowered the middles, and boosted the lows.
Press the "Insert" keyboard button on 200 msecs.
Then press V on WaveLab and draw a lower volume (mostly like a step down and not like a linear fade out, because that's the whole point on using WaveLab > Process > Level envelope (or V keyboard button). Otherwise you can use the fade out but it doesn't allow you to specifically draw the volume level the way you want.
