Description
This sound is a fully artificial fire effect made in <a href="http://puredata.info/" rel="nofollow">Pure Data</a> and is based on an example in Andy Farnells book Designing Sound. It's made by filtering and modulating white noise (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subtractive_synthesis" rel="nofollow">subtractive synthesis</a>). I've modified it and made it stereo. After writing it into a file I made some edits (start/end fade etc.) in Sound Forge Pro. If You want to make it an eternal flame ... it's perfectly loopable ;)
PS: One advantage of synthetisis is that there are absolutely no unwanted sounds (like interfering noise one might get by recording a fire out in the field).
