Aimo Lahti was the self-made gun designer, born in 1896. He designed some quite famous guns the Finnish Army ("SA" - abbreviation from "Suomen Armeija") used in the Winter and Continuation wars. His masterpiece was of course "Suomi-konepistooli" or the "Finland machine pistol", as we Finns call submachine guns.
