Soundwalk through the flea market that is held every Saturday morning at Alameda das Fontainhas in Porto. Ambient noise of a people talking in Portuguese. In the beginning traffic noise from the nearby Bridge (Ponte do Infante) and a train rattling on the rails that come out of a tunnel that runs under the market. Things get wrapped in plastic or paper around 0:50, 1:27. People searching things and raking around in boxes with different things, e.g. an old man raking amongst old metal tools and screws at 1:05. Motorcycle in the backround at 1:48. Children begging to their mothers. Coughing (e.g. 7:54). From 4:04 to 6:25 recorded under the bridge that crosses the market place in one point: more echo and some thudding drum-like noises in the background caused by the cars that cross the bridge. Longer talk between two man (ca. 4:56 – 6:20) about some deal they just made. Seagulls (e.g. 8:20, 8:34, 11:43). Young man selling and touting DVDs at 9:19, 9:28, 9:49.
